- The monitoring and study of earthquakes in the southeastern United States, including: <ul><li>The promotion of earthquake recording as a tool to enhance k-12 education</li><li>The design of low-cost seismic recorders</li><li>The analysis of the fractal nature of the statistics of earthquake and fracture spacing</li><li>Studies of SOC in the mechanism for shallow earthquakes in the Piedmont province, including reservoir induced seismicity</li></ul>
