Campus Transportation
A part of each student's attendance fees go toward transportation services on campus. These services include the Stinger bus (Red, Blue nad Green routes), and the Tech Trolley, which offer several routes around campus, buses coming every 10-15 minutes. During evening and late-night hours, at least one Stinger route remains active.
Another portion of the Georgia Tech transportation fees go toward the Stingerette services. If a student needs a ride across campus late at night, he or she can call the Stingerette service and arrange to be picked up by a van. Stingerette vans also offer transportation between the dorms and a local grocery store on Saturday mornings.
For students living off-campus, the most popular form is transportation is driving your own car. For commuters, the Georgia Tech Parking Office offers parking in several nearby parking lots. See the Parking Office website for current parking fees.
Another popular solution for commuters is public transportation. The City of Atlanta operates the MARTA bus and rail system, which runs at all hours of the day. See the MARTA website for informatin on bus routes, rail stations, and costs. The Tech Trolley make stops at the Midtown Rail Station.
Other metro-area counties (Cobb and Gwinnett) offer public transportation or Express bus service, that connect with the MARTA system. To learn more, visit the American Public Transportation Association.
